The Story Behind ZyWash
The story of ZyWash is, at its core, a very human story — one of frustration, curiosity, and the stubborn belief that things can be done better. It starts not in a boardroom or a business school, but in a small Dehradun apartment in 2025, where two old friends sat across from each other with a very simple question: "Why is getting laundry done still such a mess in 2025?"
The frustration was universal. Aryan had just returned from a work trip to find his favourite suit missing from the laundry shop with no explanation. Meera had been waiting three days for a "same-day" ironing service. They weren't outliers — they were India.
What started as a venting session quickly turned into a business plan. The local laundry industry in India was — and in many places still is — fundamentally fragmented and offline. Thousands of talented, hardworking laundry shop owners operated without any technology, any accountability mechanism, or any way for customers to track their orders. The experience was built entirely on trust — and trust, without transparency, is fragile.
Aryan and Meera saw an opportunity not to replace these laundry shops, but to empower them. ZyWash wasn't designed as a disruption of the local laundry ecosystem — it was designed as an upgrade. Open ZyWash, browse the verified laundry partners near your location, review their services and pricing, and add what you need to your cart. Select your preferred pickup time slot — morning, afternoon, or evening — and confirm your order. The entire booking flow is designed to take less than 60 seconds from login to confirmation.
We Confirm & Dispatch
Within minutes of your booking, the vendor confirms your order and our system assigns a trained delivery agent. You'll receive an instant notification with your order ID, the estimated pickup time, and the delivery agent's details. The vendor is simultaneously notified and begins preparing for your order's arrival.
Pickup — Photographed & Verified
Our delivery agent arrives at your door at the scheduled time. Before taking your clothes, they photograph each bundle of garments through the ZyWash app — creating a timestamped visual record of the items collected and their condition. You receive a notification with the pickup confirmation and the photos taken.
The Laundry Partner Works Their Magic
Your garments are transported to the partner's facility where they're sorted by fabric type, colour, and cleaning requirement. Each item goes through the appropriate cleaning process — wash & fold, dry cleaning, steam ironing, or stain removal — using premium detergents and professional equipment. Quality is checked before packaging.
Delivery — Back to You, Fresh & Clean
Within 24–48 hours, your freshly cleaned, pressed, and packaged garments are delivered back to your door by our delivery agent. Once again, photos are taken at handover as proof of delivery. You receive a notification when your order is delivered, and you're invited to rate the experience. That's it. Laundry done.
Common Questions
Do I need to be home for pickup?
Yes, someone should be available at the pickup address. If you need to reschedule, you can do so from your dashboard up to 2 hours before the pickup slot.
What if I have delicate or expensive garments?
Add a note during checkout specifying any special instructions. You can also select "Dry Cleaning" for premium garments, which triggers a higher-care cleaning protocol.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Thanks to our photo verification system, we have a clear record of your garment's condition at pickup. If damage occurs during cleaning, raise a claim within 48 hours of delivery — our team will investigate and resolve it within 5 business days.
Can I reschedule or cancel my order?
Orders can be rescheduled or cancelled before the vendor confirms them. After confirmation, rescheduling may be possible depending on the vendor's availability — contact our support team for assistance.
